In response to reports that Biden staff expressed private regret to Arab American leaders in Dearborn and Israel's impending invasion of Rafah, IfNotNow national spokesperson Eva Borgwardt released the following statement:

“Expressions of private regret from the White House are a slap in the face to the majority of Democrats who oppose Biden’s financing of this war. We need actions, not words from the Biden administration to end the ongoing catastrophe in Gaza. As long as President Biden refuses to meaningfully leverage aid and diplomatic pressure, Netanyahu will continue to ignore the U.S.‘s warnings as it kills hundreds of Palestinians every day.”
